It’s breathtaking to have a city as beautiful as Marrakech, but let’s face some facts: this place gets serious heat! There’s nothing worse than having to live in an air conditioner when it reaches 40 degrees Celsius during the day, especially when the only thing available to cool off with is a tiny pool at a Riad (which quickly becomes a bathtub). You’re going to want to enjoy big splashes, gigantic waves, and water slides, so you’re going to have to go big!
The good news is that Marrakech has built some of the best water parks in the country! From families with toddlers to adrenaline junkies, these incredible parks provide an oasis in the desert. Avoid wasting money on boring waterslides and water that will burn your skin, and instead, check out these locations that are worth the time and money spent.
Why You Seriously Need an Aqua Park in This City
During May-September, the midday temperature is very hot in the Red City. You can spend time bargaining in the Souks early in the day, but around 1 p.m., the temperature rises, which is when the Aqua Park Marrakech becomes your new best friend and the ultimate way to cool off. This aqua park is also one of the best ways to reset your mind and leave all of the dust from the streets behind. All you should think about now is how many times you can ride each slide until the park closes.
1. Oasiria-Amizmiz Waterpark
If I had to give one recommendation to someone, it would have to be Oasiria Marrakech Water Park. It has a feel that is not just a massive concrete parking lot with some plastic tubes on top of it, but rather a beautiful garden; it has ten hectares of beautiful trees, flowers, plants, and delightful fruits all around. When I was there, I even enjoyed walking around without having to get in the water.
The Stuff You Can’t Miss:
Oasiria’s wave pool is known for being the largest in Africa. The water rhythm feels like a beach. The “lazy river” is truly lazy, drifting through trees and being very calm. For parents, the pirate ship area is shallow, safe, and has enough sprayers to keep kids entertained for half of their day.
The Overall Vibe:
Oasiria is on the upscale end. You won’t find the sad soggy fries here; they have an Italian restaurant, and the food is good.
Oasiria is a great place for someone who wants someplace quiet and shaded to read while all of their friends go scream their heads off on the Kamikaze or Cobra slide.
2. Pickalbatros Aqua Fun Club
When compared to Oasiria as the “chill,” relaxing experience park, Aqua Fun Water Park Marrakech becomes the fastest paced, “chaotic” experience park in a good way; this park is enormous! Aqua Fun is part of a large resort (on the way to Ourika Valley) and has approximately 60 slides (but seems to have a hundred!)
For the Adrenaline Addicts:
If you want to feel your stomach remain at the top of a slide as you quickly go down (vertical drop), love fast tunnels through waterslides, and/or love multi-lane waterslides where you can race family/friends at the bottom, then this is the place for you! Because it is so large, you can easily spend six or more hours at Aqua Fun and still feel as if you missed parts of the park.
Kid-Friendly? Absolutely:
While Aqua Fun is designed for the “thrill seeker,” they also thought of smaller children. There are about 16 different pools, and many of them are strictly kiddie pools! Aqua Fun contains many large “great big” water bucket trees that dump several gallons of water every few minutes on children (and children absolutely love this). Just be aware: it’s loud and crowded, so your “loud, excited child” may get lost!
3. Eden Aquapark Marrakech
This one can be found at the Eden Andalou Resort! This is a nice water park to try out if you want something smaller than some of the larger parks out there. The smaller size of this water park is a big plus for parents. You can lie on a sunbed and easily see your children without the need to hike for 10 minutes to find them.
Must-See Attractions:
The slides at this water park are a combination of closed tubes or “black hole” slides and traditional open flume slides. The “Adventure River” is a very popular feature of this facility, and the central play area is the centerpiece of activity at this location. One of the major selling features of the waterpark is its “all-inclusive” ticket. This means that you pay one price for entrance and lunch, which means you do not have to walk around all day trying to buy a soda with a wet wallet.
Atmosphere and Vibe:
The waterpark has a true “family first” atmosphere due to being located on the grounds of a five-star resort. Maintenance of the grounds is excellent, and the activities team is always in high-energy mode. The overall fun factor at this park is based on a manageable, fun day out rather than extreme, heart-pounding thrills!
4. Palmiya Fun and Water Land
The new Marrakech water park, Palmiya, has a very modern (beach club) feel to it. This is not quite like your average theme park, but rather a stylish place to hang out with great slides.
Must See Stuff:
In addition to the kids’ area called “Splash World,” Palmiya features a huge number of slides, such as “Tsunami” and “Black Hole,” for the older group of people. If you stay at Dar Atlas (the hotel for Palmiya), then you usually get in free of charge, which is a huge perk. Don’t forget about the “Storm Racer,” which is the ride everyone is queuing for.
Overall Vibe:
This water park plays modern music, has a very clean atmosphere, and tends to have a younger demographic. If you’re looking for a cool and trendy place to spend the day sipping on cocktails and enjoying a boutique atmosphere, then Palmiya is the right choice. It’s not as crowded as many of the larger water parks, so you can actually relax.
5. Tamaris Aquaparc Casablanca
If you’re heading toward the coast, Tamaris Aquaparc is the “heavyweight champion” of the Casablanca region. Located about 15km outside the city on the Route d’Azemmour, it’s a massive seaside escape that covers nearly 10 hectares. It’s designed to be a full-day adventure, balancing high-speed thrills with the refreshing breeze of the Atlantic.
The Stuff You Can’t Miss:
The park is famous for its massive “Wave Pool,” which is a central hub for everyone. But for those seeking something unique, the “Niagara” and the “Twister” slides are the big draws—they offer high-speed curves that drop you into deep splash zones. There’s also a dedicated “Bowling” slide that literally spins you around before the final drop.
The Overall Vibe:
Tamaris feels like a classic summer festival. It’s high-energy and very popular with locals, especially on weekends. The facilities are great for families, with several restaurants serving everything from pizza to traditional Moroccan grills. It’s less “boutique” than Palmiya but offers way more variety in terms of pure water volume and slide count.
6. Atlantica Parc Agadir
Located in the surf-haven of Imi Ouaddar (just north of Agadir), Atlantica Parc is the crown jewel of the south. It has a distinct tropical feeling, surrounded by mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. It’s a very clean, well-maintained park that manages to feel organized even when the Agadir sun brings in the crowds.
For the Adrenaline Addicts:
The “Black Hole” here is a must—it’s a sensory-depriving tube slide that keeps you guessing which way you’ll turn next. They also have a series of steep multi-lane racers where the competition gets pretty intense. If you’re looking for height, their vertical drop slides provide a genuine “stomach-flip” moment.
Kid-Friendly? Absolutely:
The children’s area is massive and safely separated from the bigger slides. It features a shallow pool with a mini-fortress and several small slides that are perfect for toddlers who aren’t quite ready for the big drops.
7. M’nar Park Tangier
If you want a water park with a view, M’nar Park in Tangier is unbeatable. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, you can actually see the coast of Spain on a clear day. It’s not just a water park; it’s a full leisure complex with karting and quad biking, but the aquatic area is the main event.
The Experience:
The park is cleverly designed on different levels. The interconnected pools create a flow that feels more like a resort than a theme park. The slides range from “moderate” to “fast,” including some great open-air flumes that give you a view of the sea as you fly down.
The Overall Vibe:
It has a very relaxed, breezy atmosphere. Because it’s located in the “Mnar” neighborhood, it feels a bit more secluded and scenic. It’s a great spot for a “chill” afternoon where you can alternate between a high-speed slide and sitting on a sun lounger watching the ships cross the Strait of Gibraltar.
8. Smir Aqua Park (M’diq/Tetouan)
Located in the north near Tetouan, Smir Aqua Park is part of the luxurious Marina Smir area. This park is a staple for people vacationing in the Mediterranean resorts. It’s a sprawling complex that feels very open and bright, making the most of the northern Moroccan sunshine.
The Stuff You Can’t Miss:
The “Giant Wheel” (Ferris Wheel) located on the property gives it a unique “fairground” feel, but the real star is the Kamikaze slide. It’s one of the steepest in the region and definitely not for the faint of heart. They also have a very long, winding lazy river that circles a good portion of the park.
The Experience:
The park is very family-oriented. The kids’ section is famous for its trampolines and giant water buckets. It’s the kind of place where you can comfortably spend 6 hours because there’s enough variety to keep both a 5-year-old and a 25-year-old entertained.
9. Labranda Targa Aqua Parc Marrakech
This is a hidden gem located in the Targa residential area of Marrakech. While it’s part of the Labranda resort, you can get day passes to use the facilities. It’s the perfect middle ground if you want the excitement of a water park but the “all-inclusive” comfort of a high-end hotel.
The Stuff You Can’t Miss:
The park features four major high-speed slides that are surprisingly tall for a hotel-based park. The “Twister” slide is the local favorite here. For those who want a break from the action, they have a “Quiet Pool” specifically for adults that is tucked away from the splashing and screaming.
The Overall Vibe:
The vibe is “Resort Chic.” It’s very polished, with manicured lawns and excellent poolside service. You won’t feel like you’re in a crowded public park; instead, it feels like you’re a VIP guest at a private club. It’s a great choice if you want quality over quantity.
10. Diamant Vert (Green Diamond) Fes
Fes can get incredibly hot in the summer, and Diamant Vert is the city’s favorite way to cool down. Set on 14 hectares of lush greenery near the airport, it’s as much a park as it is a swimming destination. It’s famous for its “natural” feel, with plenty of trees providing shade—a lifesaver in the Fes heat.
For the Adrenaline Addicts:
They have a great selection of “Anaconda” style winding slides and several vertical drops that dump you into a large, deep pool. The water here is known for being exceptionally clean and refreshing, as the park is well-maintained throughout the season.
The Experience:
This is the most “local” feeling park on the list. It’s where families from Fes go to spend their entire Sunday. There are plenty of picnic spots, but also a good restaurant if you don’t feel like packing a lunch. It’s unpretentious, fun, and offers a great slice of Moroccan family life.
Real Advice for Your Visit
Going to a water park in Morocco is a bit different than doing it in Europe. Here is some stuff I’ve learned the hard way:
- Watch Out for “Lava” Floors: The ground gets so hot it can literally burn the skin off your feet. I am not exaggerating. Wear flip-flops or water shoes everywhere. Don’t leave them at the entrance to the park; keep them with you or find a pair you can wear on the slides.
- Don’t Pay for a Taxi Yet: Before you shell out for a cab, check the websites. Major parks like Oasiria have free shuttle buses that pick people up near the Koutoubia Mosque. It’s a total life-saver for your budget.
- The Early Bird Gets the Shade: By 11:30 AM, every single umbrella is usually taken. If you don’t want to bake in the sun all day, get there when the gates open at 10:00 AM.
- The Food Situation: Most parks are pretty strict about bag checks. They don’t want you bringing in your own sandwiches. Plan to spend a bit extra on lunch inside, or eat a huge breakfast before you go.
Why These Parks are Actually Special
What I love about Marrakech water parks is that they don’t feel like corporate copies. They usually have that red earth architecture, beautiful Moroccan tiles, and palm trees everywhere. It feels like you’re still in Morocco, just a much cooler, wetter version of it.
Whether you’re wandering the lush paths of Oasiria Marrakech Water Park or racing down the tubes at Aqua Fun Water Park Marrakech, you’re getting a top-tier day out. In a city as intense as Marrakech, having a day just to splash around is sometimes the only way to keep your sanity!
